Our client is a private investment fund focused on infrastructure assets and is seeking an exceptional Associate Director to join its growing Melbourne-based team. This is a unique opportunity to work on transactions that balance commercial returns with social and environmental impact.

The fund targets high single digit to low double digit IRRs, typically investing in projects that carry greenfield risk, such as early-stage infrastructure development, social infrastructure, and decarbonisation-enabling assets, but is not closed to brownfield investments.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take a lead role in:

• Structuring and executing greenfield infrastructure transactions end-to-end—from initial analysis through to financial close.
• Oversight and contributing to the development of complex financial models to evaluate returns, funding strategies, and risk allocation.
• Leading due diligence processes, interfacing with government, advisors, and consortium partners.
• Negotiating term sheets with equity, debt, and public stakeholders.
• Preparing high-quality investment materials and commercial assessments.
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal capability development.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after a proactive, hands-on investment professional who:

• Has 7+ years’ experience in infrastructure investment, project finance, or M&A (within infrastructure).
• Brings strong financial modelling skills and commercial acumen.
• Has led transactions in sectors like social infrastructure, energy transition, transport, or housing.
• Can manage multiple stakeholders, lead diligence workstreams, and present to investment committees with confidence.
• Embodies a collaborative, low-ego approach and thrives in a mission-led but commercially rigorous environment.
